Police nab man who drove stolen car through garage door in Galt

The 26-year-old faces multiple charges

Police have arrested and charged a 26-year-old male following a break and enter investigation in Cambridge.

On May 18, 2022, officers from Waterloo Regional Police's Neighbourhood Policing South Division located and arrested a suspect involved in a break and enter to a Cambridge residence that occurred on May 17, 2022.

As a result of the investigation, WRPS' Break, Enter and Vehicle Theft Team have charged a 26-year-old Cambridge male with Break and Enter - Commit Indictable Offence, Theft of Motor Vehicle and Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle.

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Waterloo Regional Police continue to investigate an overnight break-in at a residence in Cambridge. 

On May 17, 2022, at approximately 4:15 a.m., police received a report of a break and enter at a home in the area of Grand Avenue South and Concession Road.

An unknown suspect gained entry into the home, stole a set of motor vehicle keys and fled with the motor vehicle. The suspect then drove through the ground-level parking garage door.

Through investigation, police were able to recover the vehicle, however, the suspect is still outstanding. 

The suspect is described as a white male with a slim build, in his mid-20s and has short blonde hair. The male was last seen wearing an orange construction jacket.

The investigation is ongoing.
