Aug. 9 update:
Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's General Investigations Unit continue to investigate a shooting that occurred on Aug. 1, 2021.

Through investigation, it was determined that a white Lexus IS 250 was in the area at the time of the shooting. Investigators would like to speak with the individuals associated with the vehicle.

The vehicle will be similar to the Lexus included in the photo.

Anyone with information about the vehicle and observed it in the area of Mercer Road and Magor Drive in Cambridge around 10 p.m. on Aug. 1, 2021, is asked to call police at 519-570-9777. Anonymous tips can be submitted to Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-8477 or online.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a shooting incident in Cambridge.

On Aug. 3, 2021, Waterloo Regional Police received a report of damage to a business on Haddington Street in Cambridge. The owner had arrived at work and discovered a hole in a garage window. Through investigation, it was determined that the hole was caused by a bullet.

It’s believed the shooting occurred on Aug. 1, 2021 at approximately 10:06 p.m. Police received a call around the time in the area of Mercer Road and Thunderbird Drive in Cambridge for a report of a sound of shots fired or fireworks. There were no injuries reported at the time.

Investigators believe that both incidents are connected.

There will be an increased police presence in the area throughout the day as officers continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
