Second arrest made in firearm disturbance investigation

Oct. 11 update:
Waterloo Regional Police have seized several firearms during a search warrant in Cambridge.

On Oct. 6, 2021, as a result of the ongoing investigation, police conducted a search warrant at an address on King Street East in Cambridge.

As a result, police located and seized three firearms, two imitation firearms and ammunition.

A 33-year-old Cambridge male was arrested and charged with several offences, including assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, and various other firearm related offences.

He was held for a bail hearing.

No further arrests are anticipated, however, anyone with information is encouraged to call police at 519-570-9777 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a disturbance that took place in Cambridge.

On Oct. 5, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a disturbance involving a firearm in the area of King Street East and Church Street North.

This is believed to be a targeted incident and the firearm was not discharged. The victim sustained minor injuries during the altercation.

Through investigation, a 39-year-old Cambridge male has been arrested for assault.

The investigation is on-going and more charges are anticipated.
