Single vehicle crash leads to impaired charges in Cambridge

Police say the 24-year-old failed to stop for a stop sign, left the roadway and struck a tree

The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Neighbourhood Policing South Division has laid charges after a single motor vehicle collision in Cambridge.

On Nov. 15, 2021, at approximately 11:35 p.m., officers responded to the area of Black Bridge Road and Roszell Road for reports of a collision.

Through initial investigation, it was determined that a black BMW was travelling north on Roszell Road when the driver failed to stop for a stop sign and continued north, left the roadway and struck a large tree.

The male driver was transported by Region of Waterloo Paramedics to a local hospital with serious injuries.

As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Bolton resident has been charged with impaired driving and dangerous operation of a vehicle.
