Single vehicle crash spills cooking oil mess all over road

Incident happened in area of Saginaw Parkway and Franklin Boulevard

On Feb. 25, 2022, at approximately 1:55 p.m., officers responded to the area of Saginaw Parkway and Franklin Boulevard in Cambridge for a single motor vehicle collision.

A tractor trailer was travelling south on Franklin Boulevard when the driver attempted to turn left onto Saginaw Parkway. The driver struck an ice patch and lost control, causing the tractor trailer to flip onto its side and spill. The tractor trailer was transporting cooking oil at the time of the collision.

There were no physical injuries reported.

The Ministry of Environment, Region of Waterloo and City of Cambridge attended the scene to assist with the cleanup.

The investigation remains ongoing.
