GUELPH – A Cambridge man faces charges after damaging a telephone and window at Guelph police headquarters Thursday.

Just before 10 a.m. the man was in custody after being arrested for charges including assault and breaching probation. He was placed in a room to have a telephone conversation with a duty counsel lawyer.

A short time later the man was heard screaming, then tore the phone off the wall and used it to smash a window on the interview room door, police report.

A 41-year-old Cambridge man faces two additional counts of mischief under $5,000. He was held for a bail hearing Monday.
