Two facing drug charges after police locate vehicle reported stolen

One of the individuals is also facing a charge of possession of stolen property over $5,000

Members of Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Direct Action Response Team (DART) have laid charges in connection to a drug investigation.

On Jan. 18, 2022, officers began an investigation into drug trafficking and possession of stolen property after locating a stolen vehicle in the area of Concession Road and Langs Drive in Cambridge that had failed to stop for police.

As a result of the investigation, officers attended a hotel in Cambridge on Jan. 19, 2022, and arrested two individuals, a 31-year-old female and a 38-year-old male. Both are facing charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking (three counts), possession of stolen property under $5,000 and fail to comply with order. The male is facing additional charges, including flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, two counts of drive while disqualified and possession of stolen property over $5,000.

Police seized suspected methamphetamine, hydromorphone, oxycodone and two vehicles as a part of the investigation.
