When Sandeep Chaudhari immigrated from India to Canada as a child, his family quickly adopted Canadian traditions. When it came to celebrating Christmas, they wholeheartedly embraced the holiday with family gatherings and exchanging gifts. Sandeep said, “Christmas is awesome. Every kid looks forward to Christmas. I look forward to Christmas and every kid should have something under the tree.”

Growing up, Sandeep didn’t have a lot, so it’s important to him to ensure that every child has a gift to open on Christmas Day. “I know it’s a great feeling unwrapping something, no matter how small the gift.”

Sandeep is so passionate about Christmas, a few years ago, he launched his first Christmas Toy Drive at his Domino’s Pizza shops in Cambridge, Kitchener, Waterloo and Paris. He asked customers to donate new, unwrapped toys and pyjamas for children. Over the years the response has been tremendous and continues to grow at all 13 Domino’s locations in the area. The items have a minimum value of $10 and they collect about 350 toys and pyjamas for children.

Customers who donate to the toy drive receive a gift certificate for a free large, 3-topping pizza. If you’re going to buy a pizza, why not donate to a child in our community at the same time? It’s so easy to make a difference in the lives of children whose families are struggling to make ends meet. Sandeep said customers are already asking when the toy drive begins this year.

Sandeep’s Domino’s Pizza annual Christmas Toy Drive begins on December 1st and runs to December 15th. The items collected will be distributed to the children by the Salvation Army in Kitchener.

The Christmas spirit has enriched Sandeep’s life and he wants every child to unwrap a toy. “Domino’s family would like to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas.”
