Two new COVID-related deaths were confirmed by Region of Waterloo Public Health in the latest update.

As a result, the local death toll is now 493 since the start of the pandemic. 

Hospitalizations due to COVID-19 have lowered by 17 since the last update. There are currently 45 patients hospitalized, with four patients in intensive care with COVID.

213 new cases were also confirmed, putting the overall total at 53,315. 

The active caseload is down by 98 since the last update to 214.

A reminder, COVID-19 case counts are said to be an underestimate due to ongoing testing restrictions.
