CambridgeToday received the following letter to the editor from Hope Dekker about the free food panty on Jarvis Street.

Since that box was put up there have been thefts by drug addicts, people threatened and harassed, vehicles broken into, fires started incarnate bins, granddaughters bike was stolen, my son's trailer wires cut and vandalized, and they broke have threatened my daughter in law when she caught them trying to break into my son's shop at the end of the street.

One addict overdosed on the front yard of our neighbour's yard and our children witnessed this while the police do nothing. There have been needles left all over the ground by the vacant KFC at the top of the road, and they have continually broken into it.

This street went from a nice quiet area to a scary place to live because of this box being here.

I have been trying to have something done about this for months now. I contacted city hall repeatedly about this.

It is not fair to the rest of us who live here and want just to be able to enjoy our homes without worrying about being threatened or harassed and our children should be able to play outside safely.
