Cambridge Food Bank launches winter programming

The food bank is running programs to help residents with their New Year's resolutions

The Cambridge Food Bank is helping people live healthier with several programs and workshops in Jan. and Feb.

The Cambridge Food Bank is offering a variety of programs and workshops over the next two months to assist the community in achieving a healthier lifestyle.

From tips on how to eat healthier and the benefits of physical, mental and emotional health, to exercises to get moving, the food bank has something for all ages and abilities.

Programs and workshops

Insight Yoga

In-person and virtual

Wednesdays from Jan. 25 to Feb. 15, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Participants will learn about breathing exercises, gentle yoga poses and chair based gentle yoga postures

Substitutions 101

Virtual

Fridays from Jan. 27 to Feb. 17, 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Learn about healthy food substitutions on an affordable budget. Join for a nutritious, quick meal. Ingredients are supplied.

Everfit Seniors

Virtual

Jan. 24, Feb 7 and Feb. 14 from 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

A low-impact pilates class for seniors.

Craving Changes

Virtual

Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This how-to workshop aims to help change people’s relationship with food, including understanding food choices, comfort with food and changing the way people think about food.

Getting the most out of your healthcare appointment

Virtual

Jan. 31 from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

This workshops builds confidence when it comes to taking control of your health. The end goal aims to help people communicate more effectively with their healthcare provider.

Learn about the importance of your digestion, common disorders and strategies to keep our digestive system healthy.
