Children and their families can learn to cook nutritious meals through the Cambridge Food Bank's Tasty Bite Program.

The Cambridge Food Bank is continuing to fight food insecurity in the community, this time focusing on the development of young people's culinary skills.

Its Tasty Bite Program is a cooking class for children aged six to 16 and their families that takes place weekly on Zoom.

Participants will learn to cook delicious meals with most ingredients being supplied. One bag of ingredients is given to each family.

The goal of the program is to increase nutritional knowledge and create a sense of belonging among members of the community.

It's not the food bank's only effort to educate the city's younger residents.

The wellness program for children and youth is also happening in local schools where students learn to cook nutritious meals. In January, 169 new youth joined the program.

The Tasty Bite Program runs every Wednesday beginning Feb. 21 until March 6 from 5 p.m. to 5:45 p.m..
