Cambridge artistic gymnast Brooklyn Moors is heading to Tokyo next month to compete in the 2020 Summer Olympics.

Brooklyn’s older sister, retired gymnast Victoria Moors was on Canada’s artistic gymnastics team in the 2012 Summer Olympics in London where she helped the team finish in fifth place.

A press release from Gymnastics Canada said the women’s artistic gymnastics team will be led by Ellie Black of Halifax, N.S. who will be competing in her third Olympic Games, along with her Rio 2016 teammate and 2018 World silver medallist on vault, Shallon Olsen, from North Vancouver, B.C.

The artistic gymnastic competition begins July 24 with qualifying rounds for the men’s teams, followed by the women's qualifiers July 25. The finals begin July 26 and continue until August 3.

All of the gymnastics events will take place at the Ariake Gymnastics Centre.
