Volunteer positions with Cambridge Youth Soccer are available this summer

Soccer players around the city will soon be taking to the pitch.

But before they do, Cambridge Youth Soccer is in need of volunteers for some of its programming.

Summer camp volunteers are being sought to help players develop their skills while creating an inclusive and safe atmosphere.

The camps run throughout July and August.

Camp volunteers aren't the only positions CYS is looking to fill, as its also in search of recreational soccer convenors.

Convenors must attend matches in their respective age division weekly, provide relevant information to participants and give feedback to CYS on any incidents that occur. Training is provided.

Cambridge Youth Soccer, founded in 1973, is a not-for-profit organization run by a volunteer board of directors and is affiliated with Canada Soccer, Ontario Soccer, the Western Region Soccer League and the Southwest Regional Soccer Association.

Through its programs and leagues, it aims to "promote and develop the game of soccer within its boundaries, and to help individuals to develop their character as resourceful and responsible members of their community by providing opportunities, through the game of soccer, for their mental, physical, social and leadership development."

Anyone interested in volunteering can contact CYS at [email protected].
