Chamber of Commerce hands out its Business Achievement Awards

The outstanding achievements of the local business community was recognized Thursday (May 27) at the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce’s Business Achievement Awards 2020-2021.

Held virtually for a second time since the start of the pandemic, the event provided guests with a safe way to celebrate the exemplary work and dedication of local businesses and community leaders from the comfort of their homes and offices.

“The hard work of our business community is something we should all be very proud of and celebrate, especially during this current health and economic crisis,” said Cambridge Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Greg Durocher.  “These awards are an important way to show how much our business community means to all of us.”

Winners in nine categories were selected from among 60 nominations, with the winner of our prestigious Chair’s Award being chosen from among those nominees and a committee of Chamber volunteers selecting the recipient of our Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Business Achievement Awards is the Chamber’s premier event and has honoured the contributions and achievements of business leaders since 2000.

The winners were selected to recognize the achievements of organizations and entrepreneurs who have made outstanding contributions in the past year.

The award winners are:

The Chair's Award
The winner is:  Your Neighbourhood Credit Union

The Lifetime Achievement Award
The recipient is:  Iain Klugman, former CEO of Communitech

Spirit of Cambridge Award
The winner is: Cambridge Farm and Forest School

Business of the Year (1 – 10 employees)
The winner is:   Willibald Farm Distillery & Brewery

Business of the Year (11 – 49 employees)
The winner is:   Reid Chocolates Candy & Nut Shop

Business of the Year (More than 50 employees)
The winner is:  Lone Wolf Technologies

New Venture of the Year Award
The winner is: Rio Nectar

Outstanding Workplace – Employer of the Year
The winner is: Blackridge Harley-Davidson

Marketing Excellence Award
The winner is: SM Marketing & Management

Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award
The winner is: Jerome Reid -  Daily Fitness Jr.

WoWcambridge Customer Service Award
The Grand WoWcambridge winner for 2020 is Missy (Melissa) Thompson – Homewood Suites by Hilton Cambridge-Waterloo
