City partners with RE/MAX to offer free accessible trick or treat signs

Free trick or treat accessibility signs are being offered from now until Oct. 31.

The City of Cambridge and RE/MAX want to make this Halloween safe and enjoyable for all trick-or-treaters this season being mindful of the various accessibility needs in our community.

The city has partnered with the local RE/MAX Real Estate Centre to provide free accessible trick-or-treating lawn signs.

By displaying one of these signs, residents can let people know they have taken steps to ensure their home is accessible for all children and help raise awareness around accessibility issues.

Pick up your free lawn sign from Oct. 19-31, at any of the locations below.

John Dolson Centre, 212 South St.
W.G. Johnson Centre, 31 Kribs St.
Cambridge City Hall, 50 Dickson St.
William E. Pautler Centre, 1145 Concession Rd.
RE/MAX Real Estate Centre, 766 Old Hespeler Rd.

Accessibility tips

• place your trick-or-treating station at a location that is easily accessible to all
• make your station well-lit for easier visibility
• refrain from the use of strobe lights and loud noises which may be alarming for some
