A section of Blenheim Road from Devil's Creek to Mount View Cemetery could be reconstructed beginning in 2024.

Blenheim Road could be getting a facelift and the City of Cambridge is asking for the public's opinion on the project.

Pending budget approval, the stretch of the road between Devil's Creek and Mount View Cemetery will have work done in 2024.

The reconstruction will include replacing the existing watermain, accessories and services to the property line. The existing roadway, curb and gutter will be also be replaced and a new 2.4 to three metre wide multi-use trail on the south side of the road will be developed.

A staff report is set to go before council in late spring or early summer that will outline considerations for a possible sanitary sewer extension, including the potential for Local Improvement Charges. Residents impacted by this extension will be kept informed of the staff report and council meeting, the city says.

The city has hired consulting company, IBI, to design the reconstruction with a private contractor to be selected to complete the work through the public tender process.

The community is being encouraged to share their feedback on the project through an online survey.
