With the start of another school year right around the corner, community groups are looking for donations of school supplies to help local children.

Langs community health centre is partnering with Wave Maker brewery and Marge's Original Sauces to help raise money and collect school supplies for the upcoming school year.

The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 26 at Wave Maker brewery, located at 639 Laurel St.

"We are so excited for this week," said Marge's on a social media post. "What we are most excited for though is the school supply drive we have been gearing up for."

Some of the most requested items are: backpacks, pens and pencils, markers, pencil crayons, lined paper, binders, erasers, rulers and calculators.

Each person who donates will be entered into a draw to win prizes from Wave Maker and Marge's Original Sauces.

Items will be accepted starting on Aug. 24 to Aug. 31 with the draw taking place on Sept. 1.

Marge's sauce and Wave Maker have already filled the first backpack with supplies are are hoping the community will show up and help local kids.
