NEWS RELEASE
CITY OF CAMBRIDGE
*************************
The Cambridge loose leaf collection program is set to begin in early November and run through the beginning of December.

The City is encouraging residents to plan to rake the leaves from street trees to the curb or roadside just before the collection week for their area. The set schedule can be determined by visiting the schedule map or alternatively by calling (519) 623-1340.

Please note that the timeline is approximate and weather dependent. Residents can receive updates and track the progress of the loose leaf collection program through the schedule map.

Keeping safety first for the community and crews, residents are asked to clear storm drains of leaves and to ensure there are no sticks or general debris in the leaf piles. Parents are also reminded to keep children safely back from the roadside piles.

Residents who miss the curbside pickup or have additional leaves after the program has concluded can bring them to the Cambridge waste transfer station at 201 Savage Dr., Monday to Saturday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., fees may apply.

The Region of Waterloo’s yard waste pickup program is also in effect until early December. Environment-friendly disposal solutions such as mulching or backyard composting are also options for those who miss the collection.

For more information on the program, visit www.cambridge.ca/leafpickup.
