New artwork is coming to The Galtway in Cambridge.

The Downtown Cambridge BIA is currently accepting submissions from emerging and established artists and art collectives to be displayed in the alleyway connecting Main Street to Water Street.

Designed as an outdoor gallery, The Galtway features nine portrait-orientated display frames that are approximately eight feet by five feet and wrapped in digitally printed vinyl.

One artist or collective will be selected to produce the nine works of art. All mediums are considered given they can be reproduced in a two-dimensional high-resolution image and printed on vinyl.

Submissions can be specific to the project or previously produced.

The selected artist will receive a one-time artist fee of $2,000.

The deadline for consideration is Feb. 9 at 5 p.m., with the winner being contacted on Feb. 14.

Once notified, the individual or collective is contracted for 12 months from March 1, 2024 until Feb. 28, 2025.
