Film crews return to Cambridge next week

Queen Street West will experience intermittent traffic disruptions to accommodate filming April 24

A film or television production will be setting up cameras on Queen Street in downtown Hespeler next Wednesday and the city wants everyone to know about it.

The return of film crews is welcome news after 2023 saw a huge slump in local film productions due to Hollywood writers' and actors' strikes.

Cambridge expected more than $1 million in spin off revenues for city businesses and services as a result of filming last year but realized far less because of the shutdown.

The city's Invest Cambridge team says filming will take place April 24 from 10 am. to 8 p.m. outside Cyprianna's Pizzeria at 28 Queen St. W.

The city is no longer disclosing the names of productions prior to shooting.

Intermittent traffic control will take place along the stretch between Harvey and Adam streets so expect delays.

The basecamp for technical and crew staff will be on private property.

The city says there will be minor traffic impacts on the surrounding area.
