Film crews are rolling onto the streets of downtown Galt for the first time in 2023 to shoot a Christmas movie.

Starting on Jan. 22, crews will be setting up at 52 Main St. in downtown Galt to shoot scenes on the sidewalk in front of Sugar Daddies Bakery as well as a few interior scenes. The actual date of filming will take place the next day on Jan. 23 from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The film called, Christmas Casanova will be the first project filmed in Cambridge in 2023. The scenes shot in the city will be walking shots and not affect traffic or close any roads.

"The film office also advised that there is no SFX taking place for the film on Monday. They will be filming a walk and talk scene inside the 52 Main St. property and a scene walking along the sidewalk in front, so there will be no gunfire, simulated violence, or nudity," said Allison Jones, communications for the city.

The city has announced that parking on and around Main Street and 30 Wellington South will be affected due to the filming.
