Freezing rain warning in effect for:

  • Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County

 

Freezing rain expected today.

Hazards:
Freezing rain.
Ice accretion up to a few millimetres is possible on untreated surfaces.
A risk of freezing drizzle tonight.

Timing:
Freezing rain will begin this morning and end this afternoon.
Freezing drizzle will be possible tonight.

Discussion:
Freezing rain, which may be mixed with ice pellets and snow, is expected to begin this morning. Freezing rain will transition to light flurries, possibly mixed with freezing drizzle, this afternoon. The risk of freezing drizzle will end Friday morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Ice build-up may cause tree branches to break. Utility outages may occur.
