  • Halton Hills - Milton
  • Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
  • Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County
  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo
  • Newmarket - Georgina - Northern York Region
  • Stratford - Mitchell - Southern Perth County

Freezing rain is expected or occurring.

Freezing rain is expected this afternoon and evening.

Hazard: Ice accretion up to 2 mm on some surfaces.

Timing: This afternoon into the evening.

Discussion: An approaching low pressure system is expected to bring freezing rain and rain to the area. Freezing rain is expected to begin this afternoon before slowly changing to rain this evening.

The most significant freezing rain is expected over areas of higher terrain.

Ice accretion on ground and road surfaces is expected to be variable as the ground is still relatively warm in some areas.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Freezing rain warnings are issued when rain falling in sub-zero temperatures creates ice build-up and icy surfaces.
