Environment Canada has issued a freezing rain warning for parts of the province, including our area. The period of freezing rain is expected to end late this morning.

Freezing rain warning in effect for:
    •    Guelph - Erin - Southern Wellington County
    •    Mount Forest - Arthur - Northern Wellington County
    •    Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo

Freezing rain is expected or occurring. A brief period of freezing rain is expected this morning.

Hazard: Ice build-up of 1 to 2 mm.

Timing: Ending by late morning.

Discussion: Freezing rain is expected to be brief and limited this morning but could result in several millimetres of ice accretion or build-up especially on elevated surfaces. Surface temperatures are expected to rise above the freezing mark later this morning.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions.
