The Hespeler Village Market is ending its season this Friday.

The Hespeler Village Market is preparing to pack up for another year as Friday marks the final day of the 2023 season.

To celebrate, organizers have planned a special day of activities for the community.

Beginning at 4:30 p.m. the Cambridge Kiwanis Choir will be entertaining residents by performing a mix of songs, including contemporary choral and musical theatre.

While people are being serenaded by the sounds of local music, kids can visit members of The Big Smile Company who will be on hand twisting balloons into various animals and objects.

Balloon animals won't be the only kind in attendance as the Hespeler Little Farm Petting Zoo will also be set up.

Then at 5 p.m., plans are in place to host an early Halloween celebration with themed games and temporary tattoos.

The first 50 trick or treaters can visit the market booth for free candy and kids are encouraged to wear their costumes as some of the other vendors are also handing out sugary treats.

The market and seasonal closure of Queen Street began back in June with activities and events happening throughout the summer as a way to promote the area and drive residents to the core with the goal of providing community connection and support for local businesses.

"This is a city market but first and foremost it belongs to Hespeler," Mayor Liggett Liggett said back in June at the opening ceremony.

"We celebrate the local farmers and businesses who come together and provide us with the fresh local produce and the products that they serve. It's a testament to the spirit of community."
