Waterloo Region Student Placement and Canada Linc are putting out a call to the community in hopes of finding host families for students coming to study in the region.
International students are here to study for varying amounts of time, from two weeks to one year, and both short term and long term hosts are needed.
Families are required to assist with both the physical and emotional needs of students as they pursue their education.
The care, support and comfort of a family member, along with being able to participate in the family’s daily lives are critical to successful integration.
Interested residents need to be able to supply a bedroom with a desk, chair, lamp, dresser and bed. Convertible or inflatable beds are not suitable.
Three meals a day and access to unlimited internet is also a requirement.
Selected families will be compensated $1,050 per 4 weeks, plus bonuses.
