The Cambridge RedHawks played the Stratford Warriors in the second round of the Midwestern Conference playoffs.

Camden Daigle notched a hat trick to lead Stratford Warriors to a regular season-ending 8-2 win over Cambridge RedHawks on Friday night. 

Daigle scored all of his goals in the second period, and the Warriors scored six in the middle frame, to pull away from the visitors in their GOJHL Midwestern League game at William Allman Memorial Arena.

Daigle finished with 21 goals on the season. 

Owen England had the lone goal of the first period for Stratford, his second of the season. Reid Gammage tied it up 39 seconds into the second period before Stratford went on a tear. Michael Denney, Cole Lewis (21st) and Carson Harmer, with his 28th goal, also scored for Stratford. 

Denney scored his 33rd goal of the season in the third period. Gammage got one back for the RedHawks. 

Matthew Perdue had 30 saves for Stratford. Leland Gill and Thomas Staszczyszyn combined for 39 saves for the RedHawks. 

On Thursday, Feb. 29, Ayr Centennials got two goals from Blake Kersey in a 3-1 win over the Warriors. Ryan McKellar added a goal for the hosts. Brayden Stumpf had the lone goal for Stratford. Ethan Kowatsch stopped 39 pucks for the winners. Perdue had 32 saves for Stratford. 

Stratford finished in second place in the Midwestern conference with 66 points. Cambridge finished in 6th place with 46 points.
