Spots are still open for Kinbridge's employment workshops for newcomers.

The Kinbridge Community Association has committed to helping newcomers in the city prepare to find employment through various workshops.

Throughout the summer, residents can gain new skills and train for their next job interview.

On July 20, the association will be running a communication skills workshop that focuses on rules for manners and politeness, email writing and how to make requests in various situations.

The following week will focus on interview skills, teaching residents about common questions that are asked and how to prepare. Part of the process includes the opportunity to practice with human resources professionals.

The sessions will continue into August with tips for adjusting and settling in Canada, navigating job markets and workplace communication skills.

All participants will be provided refreshments and bus tickets. Interpretation is available if needed.

To be eligible to register an individual must be a resident of Cambridge and a newcomer via permanent residency, a work permit, or as an international student.
