Cambridge residents can catch a glimpse of the local landmark known as the Black Bridge in a trailer released this week for the upcoming Sam Worthington sci-fi flick Simulant.

The Hespeler heritage bridge, which has appeared in other recent productions, including the Amazon Prime series Reacher, was used as the backdrop for a chase scene in the movie shot here last March.

Although the cast and crew of Simulant was only in Cambridge for a day, the steel truss bridge is clearly visible for a few intense seconds of the two-and-a-half minute trailer.

Starring Avatar's Sam Worthington, Canadian actor Simu Liu, Jordana Brewster, of The Fast and Furious, and Robbie Amell of Upload and The Flash fame, Simulant tells the story of a widow who attempts to fill a void left by her husband's death by replacing him with an android.

While filming in Cambridge, the in-production project was titled Hello Stranger.

According to the Internet Movie Database, Simulant is scheduled for release in theatres April 7.
