On July 13, 2022, at approximately 3:35 a.m., emergency services responded to the intersection of Maple Grove Road and Fountain Street North in Cambridge for a motor vehicle collision.
A tractor trailer was travelling east on Maple Grove Road approaching Fountain Street North when the driver collided with the rear of another tractor trailer travelling directly in front of it, causing a diesel spill.
There were no physical injuries reported.
The driver, a 23-year-old Brampton male was charged with Careless Driving.
The Ministry of Environment, Region of Waterloo and City of Cambridge attended the scene to assist with the cleanup.

The road has reopened after being closed between Saltsman Drive and Fountain Street north this morning for a collision investigation.
Waterloo Regional Police tweeting out just before 5 a.m. Wednesday morning, they were on scene and expected the area to be partially closed for several hours.
It was completely shut down around 6 a.m.
