Mayor's dinner celebrates volunteers and Black History Month

Feb. 29 event was held at Kinbridge Community Association

The annual Mayors Dinner, held Feb. 29, is an event hosted by the Cambridge Neighbourhood Association (Kinbridge Community Association, Preston Heights Community Group, Langs, Fiddlesticks Community Center, Hespeler Village Neighbourhood Association, Silverheights Neighbourhood Association,  Alison Neighbourhood Community Center, and Geenway-Chaplin Community Centre) on behalf of the City of Cambridge to celebrate volunteers across Cambridge.

This year's event was organized by Preston Heights Community Group and Kinbridge Community Association at Kinbridge’s main location 200 Christopher Dr.

The evening also offered a chance to celebrate Black History Month with Rhythm and Blues Cambridge, which ran a wellness workshop with a spoken word presentation by Roshan James, and a drumming workshop by Gerima Harvey Fletcher.

Volunteers enjoyed catering by Irie Myrie’s and spent time connect on their volunteering experiences.
