Galt Arena will not be available for the upcoming Cambridge Redhawks’ games due to a mechanical issue with the ice refrigeration system.
This issue was identified during a routine inspection and the city expects that repairs will take place prior to start of the next season.
While the regular ice program has concluded, the Redhawks’ additional games will be relocated to Hespeler Arena for the remainder of their season.
The City has been in touch with the Redhawks’ and their game schedule at Hespeler Memorial Arena will be as follows:
- Saturday May 7 – Rink 1, 7-10pm Sugar Kings vs Redhawks Game
- Tuesday May 10 - Rink 1, 7-10pm Sugar Kings vs Redhawks Game
- Saturday May 14 - Rink 1, 7-10pm Sugar Kings vs Redhawks Game
It is anticipated that summer programs inside Galt Arena will not be impacted and September ice programs are expected to run as scheduled. The City will provide updates as information becomes available.
