A new way to play is coming to Cambridge.

Activate Games will be opening their first Cambridge location in the coming months at 42 Pinebush Rd. in place of the old Chuck E Cheese.

Activate is the self-proclaimed world’s first active gaming facility where you become the player.

"Jump, climb, problem-solve and laugh, as you and your friends move between challenges. Each dynamic game room has interactive technology that reacts in real time, ensuring an adrenaline-filled adventure," said Activate on their website.

With over 16 potential rooms to choose from, players can jump between activities like laser fields, climbing walls, LED basketball and more.

Electronic wristband on each player will track your progress so you can rack up points, advance through the levels and earn prizes. The company adds there are over 800 different games and levels to try.

There are over 12 locations in Canada and 13 in the United States. Recently, Activate Games has just signed a deal with Dubai-based company Majid Al Futtaim Entertainment to bring their games to the Middle East and Northern Africa in 2024.

Updates on what games and activities as well as an opening date will be provided on their social media accounts.
