The new owners of 2040 Eagle St. N. want to convert it into a medical office for use by a team of chiropractors, physiotherapists and massage therapists.

City staff is reviewing a plan to convert the former office of the Cambridge Association of Realtors on Eagle Street North into a medical office.

Jenn and Dr. Mark Guker have applied to the city for an official plan and zoning bylaw amendment for 2040 Eagle St. N. with a plan to establish a medical practice within the existing building.

It would house a team of chiropractors, physiotherapists, and massage therapists.

The land the building sits on is designated Industrial Employment Corridor in the city's Official Plan and zoned Industrial M3.

Under that designation, medical uses are only permitted on a limited basis within industrial malls provided the uses are compatible with the development and operation of industrial uses.

An official plan amendment is required to establish a site-specific policy that would permit a medical building. Additionally, the application requires a zoning bylaw amendment to establish site-specific permission within the M3 zone.

A tentative public meeting date is scheduled for Nov. 14.
