Police still on the hunt for shooter after man sustains non-life threatening injuries

Second shooting in the city in less than three days sends one person to hospital

Police are still searching for the shooter that sent a 31-year-old man to an out of region hospital with non-life threatening injuries. 

Early Wednesday morning, police received a call about an individual who had gunshot wounds. At approximately 1 a.m., police responded to a parking lot in the area of Alison Avenue and Elgin Street North for reports of the shooting. 

Through the initial investigation, police determined that an altercation took place, resulting in the Cambridge man sustaining gunshot wounds. 

After the altercation the individual made his way to a local business and police were notified. 

Residents of the apartment building told CambridgeToday they didn't hear the shooting and were surprised when they awoke to a heavy police presence in their parking lot. 

Throughout the morning uniformed police officers, canine units and detectives scoured the area for any evidence that may assist them in their investigation. 

The incident was believed to be targeted and there is currently no threat to public safety. 

This is the second shooting in Cambridge in less than three days.

On June 25, police responded to reports of gunfire on Lena Crescent and Franklin Boulevard that caused damage to a vehicle and a residence. 

No one was injured in the incident, but police released footage to help identify the suspects.
