The region is setting up a second round of informational virtual workshops to help grow small businesses in Cambridge and across the region.

On Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. the Waterloo Region Economic Development Area Municipal Working Group will be holding a virtual only session to hear from the community and help shape the new Economic Development Strategy from 2023 to 2028.

"Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first round of public engagement during the last week of June," said the region on its website. "The quality of the information, insight and passion shared with us about the challenges and opportunities facing our local economy was incredible."

Some of the topics from the first round of engagement included: access to talent, supply chain challenges, growth strategies for existing and emerging sectors, coordination/alignment of advocacy across levels of government, affordable/attainable housing.

"We want to know how to support the economic and talent potential of our community. What business support services and programming would you like to see in Waterloo Region? How can we encourage talent attraction and retention? How can we address concerns for both urban and rural businesses," said the region.

The session is geared towards employers and businesses of all sizes and in all industries in Waterloo region.

The region is interested in your businesses biggest challenges, how they can help grow small business, and how they can help support businesses in both rural and urban environments?

Previous workshops in July at the regional office at 150 Main St. heard from businesses in the Cambridge area and bring a global and local lens to growth, attraction, retention, and expansion of Waterloo region businesses.

Space for this workshop is limited and those looking to register are asked to do so on the Engage Waterloo Region website
