Residents welcomed to Wesley United Church for special music lesson

The event, designed for children six to 12, showcased the church's pipe organ

Families were invited to tap into their musical side at the Royal Canadian College of Organists event at Wesley United Church in Galt on Saturday.

Members of the college, the church and volunteers were on hand to teach those in attendance about the pipe organ and harp.

“We really focus on building the community and bringing the community in to highlight this instrument in this beautiful building,” Amy Di Nino, neurologic music psychotherapist, musician and conductor, said.

“It’s not something you’d likely be able to do or think of doing, but this opportunity is quite unique.”

The experience was both educational and fun, as participants were able to try the instruments before being treated to a concert of video game music.

To make sure everyone could enjoy the days activities, a quiet room was available for children who experience sensory issues.
