Seasons Cambridge fights hunger with annual holiday food drive

Seasons Retirement Communities in Cambridge is spreading the joy this holiday season by inviting residents, family members, staff, and volunteers to participate in the annual Seasons Holiday Food Drive.

From Dec. 1 to 14, Seasons Cambridge will be collecting non-perishable goods to send to the Cambridge Food Bank.

In addition, Seasons has just launched ‘Seasoned with Love’, a cookbook filled with treasured family recipes from its residents. The books will be sold at each of their locations as part of this year’s holiday fundraising initiative.

“Seasons is proud to do its part in giving back to our communities and celebrating kindness during the holiday season,” said Stephanie Carter, general manager at Seasons Cambridge Retirement Community.

“We’re especially excited this year to add to our annual Holiday fundraising by selling our ‘Seasoned with Love’ cookbook, a labour of love from our residents sharing their traditional recipes, with some spanning a history of 100 years!”

Since 2016, Seasons Retirement Communities has focused its corporate giving efforts on local food banks in the towns and cities where residents and team members live.

To date, Seasons has donated more than $222,000 in funds and food to local food banks. Seasons says it is proud to do its part to support local communities, especially during a time of great need. 

“With an increasing number of seniors accessing the services of local food banks, we strive to make a difference and prioritize food insecurity with the support of our residents, family members, staff, and volunteers," Carter said.

Established in 2009, Seasons is a Canadian company that operates thirteen retirement residences in Ontario and eight residences in Alberta.
