Students are heading back to class in just a few short weeks and registration is now open to receive a new backpack, courtesy of Waterloo Regional Police Service and its annual backpack challenge.
WRPS has a goal to ensure students head back to class feeling confident, excited, and proud.
This year, they are working with several community partners to help hand out backpacks throughout Waterloo Region.
Parents can register for the program here with options for scheduled pick ups in Cambridge on Aug. 23 at the Greenway Chaplin Community Centre and Langs Community Assocation.
Donations are still being accepted for the backpack challenge until August 18 at the following WRPS locations:
- Headquarters, 200 Maple Grove Road, Cambridge
- North Division, 45 Columbia Street East, Waterloo
- Central Division, 134 Frederick Street, Kitchener
- South Division, 176 Hespeler Road, Cambridge
