A full slate of PD Day activities for kids and students, live music and a popular tabletop role-playing game are on the agenda of weekend activities.
Some Idea Exchange events listed below require registration, which can be found on the library's events page.
Friday, Jan. 20
Totstime

A morning of programs, stories, songs and movement for children up to 36 months.
Time for 2's and 3’s
1 North Square, 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Participate in engaging stories, songs and activities for those aged two and three and their caregivers.
Preschool Picassos
5 Tanner St. E, 10 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Children are encouraged to explore their imagination while doing art projects. Dress to get messy. The program is free but registration with the Idea Exchange is required.
Journey With Our Kin
1 North Square, 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Continue to explore artwork and the relationships with the land within the O:se Kenhionhata:tie (Willow River, currently known as the Grand River) watershed region. Runs throughout the weekend
Been T[here]
435 King St. E, 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.
Soheila Esfahani’s newest work Been T[here] explores the in-between space of combined cultural identities. Runs throughout the weekend.
Baby and Me
11 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Parents can bring their little ones to explore and meet other children while caregivers do the same. Cost is free but registration with the Idea Exchange is required.
Warm up to Winter Adult Reading Club
Idea Exchange locations running until Feb. 19
Join the reading club and track your progress to win prizes. The club runs from Jan. 9 to Feb. 19. Continues throughout the weekend.
Stay and Play PD Day
All Idea Exchange locations, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Activities and fun stations will be run for kids throughout the day on a drop-in basis.
Nerf Night
50 Saginaw Pwky, 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Join in an evening of nerf-related fun and games. Participants can bring their own unmodified blasters and foam darts. A limited supply will be available for use. The event is for those 18+.
Live Music at Rhythm and Brews
1000 Bishop Street N, 9 p.m.
Enjoy craft beer and music from Alex Price.
Saturday, Jan. 21
Cambridge Farmers' Market
40 Dickson St., 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
A central community food hub, the market features 26 year round vendors and 30 seasonal vendors.
Meet the Artist: Soheila Esfahani
435 King St. E, 12 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Come see the Been T[here] exhibition and meet the artist. Light snacks refreshments will be available.
Dungeons and Dragons
5 Tannery St. E, 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Join others in the community to play the famous game. This program is for players 14+.
Cambridge RedHawks home game
98 Shade St, 7 p.m.
Head down to Galt Arena Gardens to watch the Cambridge RedHawks host the Caledon Bombers.
Live Music at Rhythm and Brews
1000 Bishop Street N, 8 p.m. - 11 p.m.
Craft beer and live music from On the Rocks is on the schedule at the local brewery.
Galt Legion Branch 121 Sock Hop
4 Veterans Way, 8 p.m.
Enjoy live music and live music featuring the Pepper Shakers. Tickets are $15.
Sunday, Jan. 22
Rainbow Chorus Concert
520 Ellis Road, 3 p.m.
Residents can head to St. James Anglican Church for songs of hope, love and dancing. The chorus is conducted by Alison MacNeill and accompanied by Chris Fischer.
