Karaoke, live music and musical challenges are part of a weekend full of activities.

Enjoy the first weekend of March with a variety of activities around the city. Music, art and a cold dip for a good cause are just a few of the events residents can take part in.

Friday, March 3

Been T[here]

435 King St. E, 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Soheila Esfahani’s newest work Been T[here] explores the in-between space of combined cultural identities. Runs throughout the weekend.

Music and Sound: Online Creation Challenge

Virtual, All Day

Youth aged 13 to 18 can complete online music and challenges for a chance to win a Happy Teen gift card. No equipment is required other than a device with audio. Computers are available at Idea Exchange locations.

CMHReveal Springtime in Paris

74 Grand Ave S, 5:30 p.m. - 11 p.m.

Celebrate local healthcare at the Tapestry Hall with dinner, dancing and live entertainment. Tickets are $250 and all proceeds go towards funding a new MRI machine at Cambridge Memorial Hospital.

Live Music at Rhythm and Brews

1000 Bishop St N Unit 10, 9 p.m.

A night of craft beer and live music from Unkind Skies and a special guest.

Karaoke Friday’s at Gator Tails

970 Franklin Blvd, 8 p.m. - 12 a.m.

Head out to the local Sports Shack and Grill to show off your singing skills.

Saturday, March 4

Cambridge Farmers' Market

40 Dickson St, 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

A central community food hub, the market features 26 year round vendors and 30 seasonal vendors.

To Build What We Become When We Dream

1 North Square, All Day

This art exhibition showcasing Black women artists is on display until May 27. It’s guest curated by Sarah-Tai Black.

One Seed, One Community Launch during Seedy Saturday

768 Blair Rd, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.

This initiative looks to inspire residents to grow fresh food and save seeds. The program was created by the Cambridge Food Bank, rare Charitable Research Reserve, Seeds of Diversity and the Idea Exchange. Those in attendance will take home a free packet of the seed of the year.

Introduction to Digital Embroidery

12 Water St. S, 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

Learn the basics of embroidery using the Makerspace machine.

International Women’s Day Celebration

104 Water St N, 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

This free event features a walk through downtown Cambridge that ends at the School of Architecture. Light refreshments, a keynote speaker and entertainment by Cambridge’s Stacey K will take place at the end of the walk.

Waterloo Region Polar Plunge

200 Maple Grove Road, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

The Polar Plunge in support of Special Olympics Ontario returns to the Children's Safety Village.  Food trucks and entertainment from the Waterloo Region Police band will be part of the festivities.

Afro-Tribal Dance Performance

1 North Square, 1 p.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Get up and enjoy this energizing brand of dancing. Afro-Tribal Dance is a  non-profit organization whose aim is to reduce poverty in Africa.

Cambridge RedHawks First Round Playoff series Game 3

98 Shade St, 7 p.m.

Head down to Galt Arena Gardens to watch the Cambridge RedHawks host the Listowel Cyclones in Game 3 of their best-of-seven first round Midwestern Conference playoff series.

Live Music at Rhythm and Brews

1000 Bishop St N Unit 10, 9 p.m.

Enjoy a beer and music from Pink Floyd tribute band Have a Cigar.

Sunday, March 5

Galt Horticultural Society 30th Dream Garden Conference

265 Avenue Rd, 9 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Select speakers, a continental breakfast, vendors, a hot lunch, door prizes and membership to the Galt Horticultural Society will all be available during this event. Tickets are $75.
