Winter weather continues to impact the Cambridge area this week, and Environment Canada has issued a travel advisory for Friday.

Snow is expected to impact the drive home on Friday for commuters, the weather agency notes.

  • Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo

Hazards:
Snow with total accumulations of 5 to 10 cm.
Visibility may be reduced at times in snow.

Timing:
Beginning late Friday morning and tapering off late Friday evening.

Discussion:
Widespread snow will push across southwestern Ontario and the Golden Horseshoe on Friday. The evening commute will be affected by this snowfall.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
