Woman struck, critically injured while crossing road in Cambridge

A 76-year-old woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the road near Franklin Boulevard and Avenue Road on Wednesday evening.

Waterloo Regional Police Service's Traffic Unit is investigating the collision that happened around 6:30 p.m.

The woman was taken to an out-of-region hospital by ambulance. 

Police said the investigation is ongoing.

Franklin Boulevard was closed for several hours between Avenue Road and Robson Avenue for the investigation.
