Cambridge athlete featured in new water-skiing documentary

'The Unknown Sport of Waterskiing' explores the passion, determination, and adrenaline-fueled world of competitive water-skiing

A feature-length documentary on water-skiing offers insights into the life and career of a professional skier from Cambridge who is among the world's best, as well as footage of some jaw-dropping performances her and other athletes.

The Unknown Sport of Waterskiing, produced by the Waterski Broadcasting Company "explores the passion, determination, and adrenaline-fueled world of competitive water-skiing," Water Ski Canada says.

The Unknown Sport of Waterskiing highlights the achievements of four Canadian Team athletes: Jaimee Bull, of North Bay, Whitney McClintock Rini, of Cambridge, Neilly Ross, an Ontarian who skis out of Florida, and Ryan Dodd from Alberta.

"These talented athletes have carved their names in the sport, leaving an indelible mark on the water-skiing community," Water Ski Canada says. 

The four are world champions in their respective disciplines. McClintock Rini is a multi-time world champion in slalom, tricks, and overall. Ross is world champion in trick. Bull is the reigning world champion in slalom. Dodd is multi-time world champion and the reigning world champion in jump.

In addition to the Canadian athletes, the film showcases water-skiers from the U.S. and the U.K, amplifying the international appeal of the sport.

"Their presence in the documentary underscores the global nature of competitive water-skiing and the camaraderie that exists among athletes worldwide," Water Ski Canada says.

Joining the athletes in the documentary are TWCB CEO Vincent Stadlbaur and founder Tony Lightfoot, whose expertise and understanding of the sport contribute to the narrative of the film.

With "breathtaking cinematography, heartfelt interviews, and exhilarating action footage, the film encapsulates the beauty and excitement that makes water-skiing such a unique and thrilling sport".
