A Cambridge goalie is set to hit the ice and make his NHL debut with the Columbus Blue Jackets as they take on the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Head coach for the Blue Jackets confirmed 22-year-old Cambridge native Jet Greaves will start against the Leafs in Toronto.

Greaves is a product of Cambridge Minor Hockey and spent two years in net for the Barrie Colts in the Ontario Hockey League.

Unfortunately, he was passed on during the 2019 NHL draft, but stood out enough to get an invite to a Blue Jacket's development camp.

This is where Greaves proved himself to earn a two-year deal with the Blue Jacket's American Hockey League affiliate the Cleveland Monsters.

This year in Cleveland Greaves had a 16-14-5 record and 3.23 goals-against average.

All of the time playing in the AHL proved worth it for the undrafted goalie as he was recently called up to the NHL team as an emergency loan for the Blue Jackets.
Greaves and the Blue Jackets will take on the Leafs in Toronto on TSN at 7 p.m.
