Game 1 between the Cambridge RedHawks and Listowel Cyclones goes Wednesday night at Garden Arena Gardens.

The defending Cherrey Cup champion Cambridge RedHawks will meet the Listowel Cyclones in the first round of the Midwestern Conference playoffs.

The RedHawks are coming off a successful regular season that saw them finished with a 34-8-6-2 record, good for 76 points and a third place finish. Just two points separated third from first as their regional rival, the Waterloo Siskins, finished first with 78.

Listowel meanwhile closed the 2023 campaign with a 25-23-2-0 record, placing them sixth.

Head-to-head this season the RedHawks won six of the seven contests, with their only loss being a 4-3 defeat on Nov. 25 in Listowel.

Forward Tanner Bibby led the RedHawks offensively during the regular season, potting 36 goals and adding 41 assists for 77 points. He also played in all 50 games.

When it came to keeping the puck out of the net, goalie Ben Edwards lost only once in regulation. He went 13-1-3 with a 2.56 goals against average and a .909 save percentage.

Game 1 of the series is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Galt Arena Gardens.

The remaining schedule will be released this week on the RedHawks' social media channels.
