Cambridge Scorpions volleyball boys win gold in Edmonton

The Scorpions under-16 Boys EXO Volleyball team followed up the Scorpions under-17, 18U Girls gold medals at the Volleyball Canada National Championships last week, with a gold medal of their own.

The boys fought hard to get it. On the first two days of competition the Scorpions went to three sets in many of the matches but were able to only pull off two victories.

They came out firing on all cylinders for the all-important day three of the competition.

The Scorpions defeated the Ravens VC from Alberta in a three set battle, 25-18, 20-25, 15-11.

They then beat Avalon VC from Newfoundland/Labrador in another tight three set battle, 25-21,18-25, 15-10.

The final game saw the Scorpions defeat the KVA team from Kelowna VC in straight sets, 25-22 , 25-13 to win the Volleyball Canada National gold medal in Division 1 Tier 14.
