Water Ski Canada says Cambridge skier Whitney McClintock Rini demonstrated skill and determination at the prestigious Lacanau Cup by Malibu, held in Lacanau, France from June 30 to July 2.

McClintock Rini secured an impressive second-place finish with a brilliant performance in the Pro Women Slalom event.

Her finish at the Lacanau Cup marks her 5th podium of the Waterski Pro Tour, having secured a podium finish at every event this year.

She boasts a record of three wins and two second-place finishes.

McClintock Rini's points total had her narrowly missing out on the top spot. She was joined on the podium by fellow Canadian Team member Jaimee Bull, who placed first. Canada's Paige Rini also made the finals, placing sixth.

The Lacanau Cup by Malibu gathered an exceptional field of world-class athletes, providing a fierce competition and the pursuit of excellence, Water Ski Canada said in a news release.

McClintock Rini's "performance under pressure is a testament to her dedication and relentless pursuit of greatness," the organization said.

McClintock Rini has "established herself as an icon in the world of waterskiing, consistently pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the sport".
