Cambridge's Jet Greaves picks up first National Hockey League win

Jet Greaves earned his first NHL win Friday night.

Goaltender Jet Greaves will never forget Dec. 8, 2023.

The Cambridge native stopped 41 of 43 shots to lead the Columbus Blue Jackets to a 5-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Friday night for his first career win.

It was the most saves by a goaltender in Blue Jackets history in their first win.

Greaves made his NHL debut last season in Toronto against the Maple Leafs when he made 46 saves in a 4-2 loss. In two NHL games, he owns a .946 save percentage.

Prior to beginning his professional career and signing a three-year entry level contract with the Blue Jackets on Feb. 20, 2022, Greaves was drafted by the the Ontario Hockey League's Barrie Colts out of the Cambridge Minor Hockey system.

He also spent time with the Cambridge Winter Hawks of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League.
